ROOMS: Spacious and ornamented; mahogany floors and white walls are decorated with colorful weavings and paintings. Every room has a view of the lake and surrounding jungle.

FACILITIES: Open air restaurant, pool, horseback riding, boating, small zoo.

COMMENTS: birdwatching is fascinating from the bedrooms - some 50 species of birds populate the lake region. A troupe of 7 trained spider monkeys roam the grounds. The hotel owns and protects some 250 acres of rain forest surrounding the lake, all of which can be explored by following a trail around the lake or renting a rowboat.
