there are 4 buildings on the property:
Caiman Main Lodge - Spanish Building former residence of the Caiman Ranch.
The Pousada Piuva - the exterior is contemporary but the interior was redecorated in the style of the Kadiweu Indians there is art and design throughout the building.
Pousada Cordilheira - constructed of brick and raised on wooden stilts.
Baiazinha Lodge - raised on Wood stilts a rustic lodge, with open decks, resembling a bird with outstretched wings.

LOCATION: North of Miranda, 240 km west of Campo Grande City, State of Mato Grosso do Sul. It comprises 4 different lodges located in different settings throughout a 53,000 acres ranch

ROOMS :

Caiman Lodge - 11 guest rooms with private baths and air conditioning, a pool, a restaurant which offers home made food, a central living room with TV and video.
Pousada Piuva - has 7 rooms with private baths and air conditioning, a spacious central living room, a pool, a dining room and a small home style restaurant a nearby grove of palm trees shelters numerous pairs of the increasingly rare Hycinth Macaw.
Pousada Cordilheira - 6 apartments with private baths, air conditioning and terraces, an ample rustic central living room, home style restaurant and pool.
Pousada Baiazinha - 6 guestrooms, air conditioning, ample central living room with large porch, home style restaurant, observation tower and pool. A typical excursion is on rowboat for observation of the incoming flocks of birds.

FACILITIES:
Each lodge has dining room, living room, bar and pool.

ACTIVITIES: trekking day and night, horseback riding, rides on jeeps, rowboats, slides and videos shows, lectures. The weather conditions determine the excursions.

COMMENTS: Pantanal has two distinctive seasons:
Rainy season: November through March- the Pantanal
is flooded, the vegetation is exuberant, temperatures and humidity are high. Intermediate season: April through June and October through November the water level recedes and fish become trapped in ponds attracting thousands of birds.
Dry (winter) season: July through September, the peak of the dry season is in October when the Pantanal resembles a dry African Savannah. This is the best time for wildlife observation. The dry fields makes good grazing areas. From August on, the trees are blooming, bring pullovers and anorak since the temperatures drop drastically.

TRANSFERS: The transfer in to Caiman is every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sundays, made by Van with air conditioner. It takes around 4 hours to arrive at Caiman Lodge.
Arrival time: Airport of Campo Grande/Caiman: 10:00am and 12:00h.
Departure time: Caiman/ Airport of Campo Grande: 07:00am and 11:30am.
