LOCATION: in the Cordillera de los Andes, lakes region north of Patagonia, in the heart of Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales only 64 kilometers east of Puerto Varas, the oldest natonal park in Chile, founded in1962.

ACTIVITIES: The park's vast expanse is home to volcanoes Osorno (2661 mts.), Puntiagudo (2496 mts.), and Tronador (3491 mts.). Lake Todos los Santos, the Petrohue river and falls, and the river valleys of Puntiagudo, Cayutue, Rio Blanco, and Callao. Volcanic activity and the last ice age gave birth to Lake Todos los Santos, and the well-known hot springs of Callao and Rio Blanco. Whithin the park one encounters an ultra-rich native flora of millenial Alerce, Coihue, Lenga, Tepa, Arrayan, Ma?io, Notro and over 600 other species. The resident fauna includes Puma, Pudu, Coipos, beaven, fox, forest monkey, and the great Andean Small. Trekking, fishing, kajaking, floating, horseback riding...

COMMENTS: Credit cards are not accepted. The tiny village, which also has a school and a post office, bustles in summer as tourists pass through customs and immigration en route to Bariloche. Peulla is a great place for honeymooners or those trying to get away from everything. Comfortable.
