DAY 1: Santiago. Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel of choice in Santiago. Overnight at the Carrera hotel. (D)

DAY 2: Santiago. Half-day city tour highlighting all of the principle landmarks. Overnight at the Carrera hotel. (B)

DAY 3: Santiago. Following breakfast, full-day excursion to the Pacific Coast including stops at the picturesque port of Valparaiso and the charming summer resort of Vina del Mar. Return to Santiago. Overnight at the Carrera hotel. (B)

DAY 4: Santiago - Calama - San Pedro de Atacama. At an appointed time, transfer to the airport for your flight to Calama (not included). Reception at the airport in Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Lunch at hotel. Half-day excursion in the afternoon (an available tour depending on arrival day). Overnight at the Terrantai hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 5: San Pedro de Atacama. Activities based on your arrival day, including visits to archaeological sites, colonial cities, national parks, museums, the Valley of the Moon, horseback riding, trekking (see page 45). Overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: San Pedro de Atacama - Calama - Puerto Montt/ Puerto Varas. After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Calama for your departing flight to Puerto Montt via Santiago (not included). Reception at the airport in Puerto Montt and transfer to the hotel. Half-day tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas in the afternoon. Overnight at the Perez Rosales hotel. (B)

DAY 7: Puerto Montt/ Puerto Varas. Full-day excursion depends on your arrival day, but include options such as horseback riding, Alerce Andino National Park, Chiloe Island, Frutillar and Puerto Octay, Osorno Volcano and Vincente Perez Rosales National Park. Overnight at the Perez Rosales hotel. (B,L)

DAY 8: Puerto Montt/ Puerto Varas - Lake Crossing - Peulla. Drive along Llanquihue Lake to Pertohue. Here, board a cruise across Todos Los Santos Lake. Arrive at Peulla for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

DAY 9: Peulla - Bariloche (Argentina). From Peulla, on bus and catamaran, cross the border and arrive in Bariloche. (B)
