Day 1: Panama City - Anton Valley You are picked up at either your Panama City hotel or at the airport to be taken to the mountain town of El Valle de Anton, where you will overnight in the Hotel Rincon Vallero located only 1 1/2 hours Panama City. This paradisiacal area rises considerably above sea-level where a great ecological variety exists. Day 2: Anton Valley Today, visit the El Valle Indian Market, the Nispero Zoo and the Canopy Adventure. Overnight at the Hotel Rincon Vallero, which boasts 5-star service, AC bedrooms with TVs and hot water. The hotel also has swimming pools, a Children's Play Park, bicycles, horses and a restaurant. Day 3: Anton Valley - Cerro La Vieja In the morning you embark on an exciting mule journey along the Mesoamerica Biological Trail to the Cerro La Vieja. Explore and hike in the surrounding area for white tail dear, wild cats, armadillos and many species of birds. Overnight at the Posada Cerro La Vieja located in a Central American biological corridor where ecological hikes are very rewarding. Day 4: Cerro La Vieja Today, the day begins with a soft trek towards Tavida Falls only 3 hours away where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. Renew yourself with skin treatments and mud baths. Overnight at the Posada Cerro La Vieja. Day 5: Cerro La Vieja - Rio Mar You will be picked up for your ground transfer to Rio Mar, San Carlos located only 2 hours from Panama City. Relish your free afternoon frolicking on a secluded sandy beach or river side. Overnight at the Hotel Playa Rio Mar, delighting you with their well-appointed AC rooms, their delicious dishes, children or adult pools, Beach Huts, or rent a surf board, canoe or boogie board. Day 6: Rio Mar Spend the day taking advantage of all the wonderful amenities described above or beach bum at your leisure. Overnight at Hotel Playa Rio Mar. Day 7: Rio Mar - Cerro Azul You will be picked up for a ground transfer to Cerro Azul. En route, enjoy a leisurely tour of the Panama Canal. Overnight at the Hotel Casa de Campo Country Inn & Spa. Day 8: Cerro Azul Early in the morning you will be picked up at the Hostal Casa de Campo for your microbus transfer with a naturalist guide. You are headed for the community of Nuevo Vigia to board a motorized dug out canoe for a ride to the Alajuela Lake, the second largest man-made lake in Panama. Upon arrival, explore the Chocoe Indian community while the guide describes a brief history. Enjoy their flute welcome dance, purchase handicrafts available, and swim in the cool waters. Spend the night at the Hotel Casa de Campo. Day 9: Cerro Azul - Panama City Depending on air schedules, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a morning hike for bird watching at Chagres National Park. Return to Panama City or the airport.
