Historical and Cultural Panama

Description:

Day 1: Tuesday Panama Upon your arrival you will be greeted by one of our representatives and transferred to your selected hotel.

Day 2: Wednesday Panama City and Canal Tours Breakfast. Depart from your hotel to start the Historical Tour, which first stop is at the Ruins of "Panama Viejo", the first city founded in the isthmus by the Spanish. Detour through Altos del Golf, a fancy residential neighborhood. Afterwards, we visit Casco Antiguo, the colonial city of Panama, built in 1673 with a taste of French, Italian and Spanish styles in the architecture. Next, visit the Independence Plaza and the new Inter-oceanic Canal Museum where you will learn the history of the Panama Canal construction. You can also visit the Presidential Palace, Bolivar Plaza, the National Theater and French Plaza offering a beautiful view of the city. Next, you travel to the Amador Causeway that unites 3 islands and is the entrance to the Panama Canal. Last but not least we will stop at the Miraflores Locks where you can experience the operation of the Panama Canal and enjoy the audiovisual presentation that describes this engineering wonder.

Day 3: Thursday Panama/Archipelago de San Blas After breakfast, you will be transferred to the local airport to take the flight to Achutupu and upon the arrival to Dolphin Island Lodge. There you will take the tour to the Indian Village. In the afternoon enjoy the beach. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Friday Archipelago de San Blas/Panama/Metropolitan Park/Panama Breakfast and transfer to the local airport to take the flight back to Panama City. Upon arrival, immediately tour to Metropolitan Park, which is only 15 minutes from downtown Panama City and where you will be able to see trees that characterize the dry lowland pacific forest, an ecosystem almost extinct in the region. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 5: Saturday Panama Canal: Full or Partial Transit Transfer to Balboa pier to start the Panama Canal Transit Tour with breakfast and lunch included. Return to your hotel. At 7:30 pm. transfer to "Las Tinajas" Restaurant to enjoy a typical dinner with show.

Day 6: Sunday Panama/Embera Indian Village/Panama Breakfast. Depart from your hotel at 8:00 am. to start this beautiful tour where you will appreciate the Tropical Rainforest during a light hike for about 45 minutes. Then you will take the boat across the Lake and the Chagres River. There you will meet the passionate Chocoe-Embera Indian village, and know their indigenous culture and traditions. Lunch is taken in their typical Indian huts. Return to hotel at 4:30 pm.

Day 7: Monday Panama/San Lorenzo Castle and Fort of Portobelo After the breakfast, you will start the tours to San Lorenzo Castle and Fort of Portobelo with lunch included. This fort was built by the Spaniards and used for protection against pirates and buccaneers, who were looking for the treasure to be transferred across the Isthmus to the Old World. Return to your hotel.

Day 8: Tuesday Panama Breakfast. At appropriate time you will be transferred to the International Airport.
